Daphne Woolf
A1: Closing the Employee Engagement Gap

In this economy all employees, including top talent, must be maximally engaged for an organization to emerge intact. Measuring employee engagement is good, taking appropriate action that results in a tangible outcome is essential. Although this makes sense, have you closed the gap–the serious gap between the metric that is intended to measure employee engagement and what is really happening “on the ground?” Through the use of case studies, this session focuses on how employers can close that gap and truly effect change that will foster employee engagement, impact employees and realize required organizational outcomes.

Frema Engel
A4: Respectful Workplaces: How to Stop the Harassment

Everyone should be able to work in a safe and healthy environment without fear of any kind of violence. Yet most people are aware that workplace violence–especially psychological harassment or bullying–is still common. Bill 168 has been passed amending the Occupational Health and Safety Act with respect to violence and harassment in the workplace. These regulations require employers to develop policies and programs to prevent workplace violence or harassment, assess the risks, and to regularly evaluate and update their policies.

Get ready for a dynamic, fast-paced session as Frema Engel demonstrates how to handle energy-sapping, toxic attitudes and behaviours that tie employees and workplaces up in knots. Then find out how to incorporate legislative requirements into existing or new policies. Learn four strategies to turn negative, destructive situations into positive, enriching experiences. And there’s more: learn why you must begin now to create your engaged and respectful workplace, and three areas requiring your immediate attention.
