B1: Helping Managers Support Workforce Well-being
Canadian organizations are at the forefront of a growing global recognition that business productivity is both positively and negatively affected by workforce well-being. Managing employee well-being, however, is more than implementing a wellness program. There are also key workforce ‘connects’ – social, relational and psychological dimensions that need to be considered and integrated into management practices. In tandem with these variables, workplace culture can also strongly influence employee opinion, well-being, and ultimately, financial performance. In this session, we’ll share how organizations can harness the competitive advantages of well-being through new approaches to employee management, measurement, and business leadership.
ABOUT WENDY
Wendy Poirier is Towers Watson’s Canadian Health and Group Benefits Leader, based in Calgary. In this capacity, she helps organizations define and implement health care strategies to maximize employee health and productivity while managing costs. The strategies she helps develop are grounded in an understanding of the key business issues facing organizations in maximizing their human capital, while focusing on humanistic approaches that underpin employee well-being.
