ST 3: Making Choices: Work-Life Balance
If you want to find a balance between having a life and being successful in your career, you will need to figure out your priorities and then establish the habits that will allow you to balance them. As you are a unique individual, your ideal “balance” may be different from that of your friends and colleagues.
During this workshop you will:
- Gain insights into setting priorities
- Review how to implement and continually improve sustainable work-life strategies
- Establish the consequences of an imbalanced life
The session is for everyone willing to consider their current work-life balance and how to increase their personal effectiveness in establishing a balanced life.
ST 4: Managing Organizational Culture
One of the most important aspects of organizational culture is the way people interact with each other. Managing organizational culture when one or more employee is experiencing a mental illness can be challenging. Common conditions such as depression and anxiety can make individuals particularly vulnerable to a range of attitudes, processes and environments that may otherwise be within the range of acceptable.
Participants in this session will:
- Gain insight into how depression or anxiety may change perceptions and interactions
- Learn what type of interactions can be problematic and which can be supportive for those dealing with mental health concerns
- Increase awareness of free resources and tools available on the Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health website to develop strategies to manage organizational culture in a way that is ‘psychologically safe’
Presented by: Ann Morgan, Disability Practice Consultant, Great-West Life Assurance Company
