The Power of a Positive Attitude

Discovering the Key to Success

Roger Fritz
Review by Lisa Sansom

By now, the power of a positive attitude is probably not surprising to many professionals. Starting with Norman Vincent Peale, author of The Power of Positive Thinking in 1952, up to the creation of Positive Psychology as a recognized discipline with the election of Martin Seligmann to the presidency of the American Psychological Association in 1998, the past half-century has been rife with exhortations to improve our collective outlook to embrace positivity.

As I read Fritz’s book, I am not entirely sure what he is contributing to the body of knowledge or understanding in this domain. If the notion of developing a positive attitude is new to you, you could do worse than to begin with this book. It is a good starter guide, but the mind-shift required is much deeper than this book would let on.
