E3: The Employee Engagement Equation

The traditional model of problem-solving is a deficit-based, four-step process best suited to processes and things:

  1. Identify the problem: what’s needed?
  2. Analyze the cause: what’s wrong here?
  3. Brainstorm solutions: how can we fix it?
  4. Action plan: problem solved!

A more positive, constructionist-based approach is one in which perceptions, beliefs and feelings are emphasized: Dream, Discover, Determine
