It seemed just so easy … in theory. Most business people are savvy surfers, and on-line booking for their business travel needs seemed like a good idea whose time had come. Fast and simple, using tools that are sitting right there on your desk.

But according to a recent study by Topaz International, a provider of airfare analysis and benchmarking data, Canadian companies that book business trips through on-line travel sites are spending up to 65% more for their domestic flights, and 51% more for transborder (U.S.-Canada) flights.
