In workplaces across Ontario, one of the most common causes of employees losing time from an injury is falling. That includes slipping and tripping. Every day in Ontario, 80 workers are injured seriously enough to lose time from work. That’s one fall every 20 minutes! Workers also die falling at work. Between 2000 and 2001, a total of 23 people died from a fall – some of them fell only a few feet.
