Initiate a Healthy Snack Box Program

How to transition your workplace from junk food munchies to healthy snacks

I was busily working in my office on the National Primary Health Care Awareness Strategy when it hit—the 3 pm stomach rumble. My options? A chocolate bar or bag of chips from the little cardboard box on top of the fridge, or a pop from the machine. I started a healthy snack box. Now my colleagues could have a vitamin or mineral boost, as opposed to a sugar rush, to get them through the afternoon. We’ve all heard the benefits of eating healthy in the workplace—increased productivity, fewer sick days—but the snack box was also easy to maintain and greatly appreciated.
