The July 5, 2012, Globe and Mail article by Oliver Moore, Feud with Florida lifeguard after he saved drowning man sparks uproar, involved a new employee who raced down the beach to save a man who was drowning in an unprotected beach area. When the employee returned to his post his boss had him fill out an incident report and then he promptly fired him for breaking the rules: The employee had left his assigned area.
