Security cameras are increasingly being installed in workplaces. They can play a significant role in improving employee safety, increasing the physical security of offices and preventing criminal activity. Also, with decreasing costs of digital surveillance cameras and storage devices, camera systems are proving a smart investment.

But the rising popularity of digital surveillance cameras also means organizations sometimes make errors when adding them for the first time. For example, management may not fully communicate with employees about the goals and specifics of the new system and, in the absence of solid information, employees may speculate and worry unnecessarily.
