How to be Awesome at Something

I guess you could say I was born with a heightened sense of expectation of myself. As a kid, I fantasized about becoming a brilliant novelist. At 16, I rehearsed my Academy Award acceptance speech. (“It’s an honor just to be nominated…”) And after landing my first job, I just knew I’d charge up the ladder in a matter of months. Then my thirties came, and…I had accomplished none of the above.
