Ian Armitage advocates for workplaces to ditch “the Golden Rule”, thinks not all professional development is created equally, and that workplaces and sports teams can learn from The Art of War. Since immigrating from the United Kingdom at age 21 to work for a Peterborough, ON, law firm, Armitage has worked for a number of agencies and institutions — most with the focus of helping others find lasting and rewarding employment.
He currently coordinates the self employment benefits program for the Prince Edward/Lennox & Addington Community Futures Development Corporation in Napanee, Ontario. He spent some time with Your Workplace being interviewed.
