Jose Tolovi Neto is a Managing Partner of Great Place to Work Institute Canada. The research and management consulting company is committed to helping organizations across all sectors achieve lasting improvements in their workplace relationships, which produce measurable business benefits and better corporate performance.
Neto came to Canada in 2008 to take on this managing role after leaving his position as Vice President of Great place to Work Institute Brazil. Jose’s training is in business administration, but after working in the technology industry for several years, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and got involved with Great place to Work Institute Brazil, which was started by his father in 1997. Great place to Work Institute Canada is currently growing at a rate of 100% annually under Neto’s direction.

What is the mission of Great Place to Work Institute and how is it accomplished?
JTN: Our mission is to build a better society by helping companies transform their workplaces. Great place to Work Institute Canada has three business practices: consulting, education, and training. We have developed surveys to measure the quality of the workplace, and we publish an annual list of the best places to work in Canada. We also have a Great place to Work training program, which was originally conceived to be delivered in-house, largely for line managers, and customized for the client. as a new initiative we are running a series of open, one-day sessions that people can go to around the country. In November and early December of this year we’re in five different cities: Halifax, Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Toronto. currently we survey 200 Canadian companies a year, and we are looking at surveying between 230 and 250 this upcoming year.
