Easy Pasta Cheese Bake

– Ingredients-

 

Serves 4

3 cups of dry multigrain fusilli noodles
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
2 pounds lean ground beef (or chicken)
1 green pepper (small diced)
1 large onion (small diced)
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
2 cups of fresh mushrooms (sliced)
2 jars (4 cups) of your favourite meatless spaghetti sauce
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper

– Directions –

 

  1. Cook pasta in boiling salted water until pasta is al dente. While pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet until hot and add one tablespoon of oil. Add onions, and garlic, sauté until soft.
  2. Drain water from pasta and add to a baking dish. Set aside.
  3. Add green peppers and mushrooms to sauté and cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add ground beef (or chicken) and cook until no longer pink.
  5. Add four cups of spaghetti sauce and bring everything to a boil. Season with salt and pepper.
  6.  Add meat sauce to noodles and mix well. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of noodle mixture.
  7. Bake in the oven at 350˚F until cheese is melted and bubbly.
