Most employers plan to increase their support of workplace wellness programs over the next two years
Organizations have long looked to health and productivity programs as a core component of their workplace wellness strategy. To them, it’s a way to keep workers healthier and stem the tide of higher health care costs. While new legislation is leading organizations to develop better strategies, it’s safe to say that companies are not likely to take their foot off the health and productivity pedal anytime soon.
According to a January 2014 “Staying@Work” report by Towers Watson, a human resources research and consulting firm, more than two-thirds of the nearly 200 U.S. employers surveyed said they plan to increase their support of workplace wellness programs during the next two years, while an additional 17% plan to significantly increase support.
