Moving, family illness and changing jobs rank among our top ten psychological life stressors. So when all three hit requiring me to transplant my company 300 kilometers away, I knew there’d be a personal and professional cost.

What I didn’t anticipate was the extent or duration of the disruption to my self image, income and physical well-being. At times this normally collected writer/media consultant morphed into a frenzied post-move mess. But three months later, I can say I’ve landed on my feet with some appreciation of the strengths it took to get me from there to here – literally and figuratively.
