Recognizing Top Workplaces Where Employees Thrive
The Thrive Award celebrates thriving organizations that have created a healthy, engaged workplace and a positive work culture.
In 2008, Dr. Sandy Cotton wrote “The 10 Principles for a Healthy Workplace.” This article became the benchmark for selection. For simplicity, the original principles were compressed into the following five criteria:
- Collaborative Dialogue
- Clear Outcomes
Any organization that demonstrates a clear commitment to the five criteria is eligible to be nominated.
You may choose to self-nominate, or a nominator can nominate you.
- Fill out the Nomination Form. (Click on the icon at the top of the page to download the nomination form, which contains more detailed information on the nomination process.)
- In 1,000 words or less, provide reasons why the nominee deserves to win.
You may think an organization is a great place to work but obviously everyone who works there needs to agree. Part Two consists of an objective analysis of how nominees measure up against the five criteria. This is achieved through an online employee survey conducted in the spring. To qualify, a nominated organization’s employees must participate in the Employee Opinion Survey.
Though not required, nominators can take advantage of the opportunity to include a short video of two minutes or less in their application that demonstrates why the organization being nominated is an awesome place to work. If your organization is shortlisted, we will post the video to our website, share it on social media, and may even show it at the Thrive Award ceremony or Imagine Your Workplace Conference.
Award Ceremony and Reception
The Thrive Award winner will be announced at a reception after the Imagine Your Workplace Conferenceand will be featured in a special article in the July/August issue of Your Workplace magazine, which will be posted to our website and shared with our community in our eNewsletter and through social media.
It takes a short time to nominate and the recognition lasts a lifetime!
