Wellness Among the Generations

Three main generations, aged 18 to 68, dominate Canada’s workforce. Each generation brings to the job, every day, unique core values, beliefs and attitudes regarding their wellness. Although some may claim that wellness is an individual experience, the fact remains that each generation has similar challenges.

Current age (2014): 18 to 32

Formative years: This generation came of age during a good time to be a kid in Canada. They are upbeat, optimistic, empowered and engaged. They have good support from parents and friends. This is the first “technology generation”, which is proving to be equally a very good thing and a very bad thing.

Where they are today: Millennials are delaying marriage and parenthood. They are job-hopping, and are avid food enthusiasts.
