This has been a cruel and heartless winter for thousands of Canadian workers—victims of our rising dollar who face the constant pressure to remain competitive. The press releases are distressingly similar, carefully crafted by well-paid communication consultants: “This was a difficult and painful choice, but in the end, it came down to a business decision.”
