Over the past few months, I’ve been having conversations with folks who freely admit that they are swamped with competing demands for their time, energy and attention. The concept of life balance seems a wishful dream, as they juggle more and more demands at work and home. They are living with chronic overload, with far too many “to do”items on their electronic organizers, memo pads, and personal planning calendars. In short, their plates are full.
So much for the increased leisure the gurus promised us a few short years ago. I suppose that crowd has moved on to providing us with new solutions, offering to be personal organizers for the overloaded. Having totally failed to see the swamps on the horizon, the gurus now advise us to remain calm while we pay them for helpful hints.
