Wisdom: Thinking About Workplace Profanity

For the past two months, I’ve been working with an especially troubled organization, trying to help staff rebuild trust and healthy communication patterns. It’s turned out to be quite a challenge, partly because the toxic situation has been building for almost three years. Over that time, about half the staff have taken some form of stress and disability leave, relationships at work and home have suffered terribly, and the team’s productivity has dropped dramatically. The manager, a well-meaning soul, now spends far too much time juggling staff schedules so that some people won’t have to work with other people.
